Heyawake is coming soon

へやわけ

Heyawake (“divided rooms”) is a Nikoli shading puzzle. The grid is split into rooms, some with a count of shaded squares, and the strict rules about long unshaded lines make it one of the trickiest classics.

How it works

  • Shade some squares. Shaded squares never touch side by side, and the unshaded squares all stay connected.
  • A number in a room says how many of its squares are shaded.
  • A line of unshaded squares can’t pass through more than two rooms in a row.
