Questions

Is this the same game as LinkedIn’s Queens?
The rules are the same: one queen in every row, every column and every coloured region, and no two queens may touch, not even diagonally. The puzzles here are our own, made fresh for you, and there’s no limit on how many you play.
Why is it called Queens?
Queens is the popular name for one-star Star Battle, a puzzle from international puzzle competitions. The queens are a nod to the chess puzzle about placing queens that can’t attack each other.
How do I play on a phone?
Tap a square once to cross it out, again to place a queen, and a third time to clear it. Drag across squares to cross out several at once.
Does every puzzle have one answer?
Yes. Each board is checked by a solver that counts every possible answer, and it’s solved step by step without guessing before you see it.
Is there a daily one too?
Yes. Masu Puzzle publishes one Star Battle a day with the same rules, so you can compare times with friends and keep a streak.
